I'm wondering about average daily volumes specifically for exchange trading.

Hi everyone, Suns fan coming here in peace. I'm currently in the process of creating a Twitter list for every NBA team. I'm teaching myself NBA trading on Betfair Exchange and so want to follow fans who know what they are talking about as well as beat reporters/stats people/podcasters/bloggers to keep up to speed with the latest news. I've been trading on betfair for over a year now and I always assumed odds (predominantly in tennis) move so fast because of courtsiders. Now I reckon this is not the case, because spectators are not welcome during many of the games being played now.
Another way I figured this could be the case is when people would setup a bot that would trade automatically when they see the score has changed on the official scoreboard. I figured this cannot be the case either, since these bots would rely on the fastest information available but still need to wait the 5 seconds before their bet is being placed. Unless somebody here knows a quicker way to get the scores (I use William Hill) I doubt these bots can be used since odds often move within 2 seconds after the score is updated.
Lastly, could it be the case Betfair is bypassing their own 5 second-wait-rule and buy/sell odds on the exchange themselves?
